Our artist management
company was established in 1995. We work in the classical music
field and our goal is to provide highly personalized service to
our artists and clients. In addition to artist representation, we
offer a broad range of consulting services to classical artists
as well as performing arts organizations. We also develop and manage
a variety of unique and interesting special projects and presentations.
Project highlights include the 1999 presentation of the children's
musical Paquito's Christmas by Luis Avalos and Emil Kauderer
in cooperation with The Washington Opera and the 1998 Washington
debut of the highly acclaimed German Youth Orchestra conducted by
Kurt Masur; their Kennedy Center appearance was part of their "Thank
You, America" tour in commemoration of the 50th anniversary
of the Berlin Airlift.
An Oberlin-trained musician
and performer, Lois Howard had the opportunity to work closely with
many wonderful conductors and soloists during her ten-year career
at the Kennedy Center where she served in several artistic capacities,
including Artistic Administrator of the National Symphony Orchestra
(1988-94) under the leadership of Music Director Mstislav Rostropovich.
In 1990, her duties expanded to include responsibility for the Kennedy
Center's Chamber Music Programs, including the Terrace Concerts,
the Friedheim Awards for New American Music and the Mozart Festival.
Throughout her professional life, Ms.
Howard has worked in all facets of music performance, administration,
teaching and now artist management. Her approach in all of these
areas is perhaps best summed up in the following quote written several
years ago for an interview: "I have always aimed to engage
audiences and students in the joy of music. I feel that the performer,
through his or her artistry, must invite listeners to participate
in a marvelous musical journey through the aural landscape created
by the composer, sharing insights, making it possible to discover
together all the facets of the composer's intent. Participation
in such a journey, whether as artist, student, listener or administrator,
adds new dimensions to our lives at any age and no matter what our
circumstances."
